Batman on a budget: Parnis GMT 31 "Batman"

Over the holidays, I was gifted a timepiece from my dad that has been a topic of interest to many in my local horological circle, the Parnis GMT 31 "Batman". The GMT 31 pays homage to the Rolex GMT Master II Ref. 126710 and is an absolutely gorgeous example of a GMT that won't break your bank.

Movement:

Inside the Parnis GMT is a 22 Jewel DG 3804-B automatic movement with a dual time-zone complication. The DG 3804-B is a very rugged movement that keeps excellent time once regulated properly. This is a made in China movement that works extremely well and is probably the best Chinese movement available to date.

Review:

Pros: The Parnis GMT 31 "Batman" is by far the best budget friendly timepiece that I have ever seen. This piece has a fantastic feel on wrist, a luxurious heft and weight as well as an overall stunning aesthetic that closely resembles its homage counterpart, the Rolex GMT Master II Ref. 126710 "Batman". The DG 3804-B movement in this piece keeps very good time, almost to a point that it's absurd how good for a budget time piece. The DG 3804-B also has its amazing 45-hour power reserve which ensures that you won't have to worry about winding it for a couple of days. The build quality of this piece is also fantastic. With its 40mm 316L stainless steel case, this watch is the perfect size for the average or small wrist. The jubilee bracelet is super comfortable and has an even more comfortable and secure butterfly clasp to ensure a great fit.

Cons: This list is extremely short. The first issue that I have is that the bezel insert and index at 12:00 on my timepiece don't line up perfectly, but at this price, I can obviously look passed it. The second issue is the lack of the water resistance being displayed on the dial or case back.

Conclusion:

The Parnis GMT 31 "Batman" is one of the best "bang for your buck" watches you can buy, period. Now, in regards to the price, you can pick up this piece directly from Parnis for $190 CAD or try through AliExpress and get them even cheaper for around $100 CAD. That is an incredible amount of watch for the price. This piece is a definite "would buy". You will not be disappointed with the Parnis.
