Behind the Brand: Sartory-Billard's Armand Billard
We had the absolute honour and pleasure to sit dow and talk with the Founder and Owner of Sartory Billard watches, Armand Billard. Armand conceptualizes and creates some absolutely stunning timepieces, and today, we talk about his first memories of what got him into watches, how he decided to become a watch maker, his dream timepieces, and a vast array of topics throughout this conversation. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the audio below.
During this interview, Armand and I discussed a couple specific timepieces that he makes, the SB-02 Bavaria and the SB-04 Blue Titanium. Both are absolutely beautiful timepieces, and can be seen below with their spec list included.

SB-04 Blue Titanium
SARTORY BILLARD SB-04 Blue Titanium
This watch is designed and assembled in France.
The case is made and finished (polishing, satin finishing, etc.) in the beautiful country of Switzerland. A pair of needle hands are handmade by Sartory Billard from a 0.2mm cut steel sheet, which takes between 3 and 4 hours depending on the finish.
Sartory Billard create unique dials that you will never find with any other brand.
The dial for the SB-04 Blue Titanium is specially treated by flame to get that deep blue colour, and it has to be cut less than half a millimetre. The most difficult part is cutting the dial thin enough without creating too much heat, or you will damage the the titanium, and essentially, ruining that whole dial. The result of patience and time: a unique, incredibly deep and shiny shade of blue that you can only find with this material and process.
Specs: Automatic Swiss movement, 26 jewels, 4Hz, 40mm 316L stainless steel case, Thickness 11 mm. Sapphire crystal over the dial and case back.
